I love the movie “Blade Runner”, it’s one of my all-time favorites. I think that this piece has a lot of conflict/resolution juxtaposed against one another in the composition of the melodies. As soon as you think something is going to stay in one place, it shifts. I made this piece as an evocation of that duality. “A Plea for Peace” is asking to please give a moment of rest and a time of freedom from pain. During 2020 there was so much happening from the BLM protests to the obvious catastrophic effects of Covid-19. I just needed something to be peaceful and this was my request in song form.
